Its finally here! The list of changes is too great to post everything, but the short list is that it’s basically a totally new script. Everything has been coded from scratch, totally optimized, totally OOP, totally PHP5.3+, and totally awesome.
Please refrain from using the script on your live site until 2.0 Stable has been released! In the meantime, we would appreciate as much testing as everyone can provide.
A special thanks should be made to Ryan Hutton, Golevel’s senior programmer and author of all of SAA’s 2.0 code, including the framework. Be sure to thank him for all of his volunteer work in creating this awesome free script! Also, we’d like to thank the developers that created JQuery and AJAX, we used those libraries to create the UI elements used throughout SAA.
You can download beta version here:

Happy bug hunting! If you find any bugs or have any suggestions, please post them as new items here:

Thanks,

We just wanted to take a moment and recognize this milestone in addition to shedding some light on our latest developments. SAA is growing by leaps and bounds from a usage standpoint, meanwhile we’ve been working on SAA 1.7, which implements the CodeIgniter 2.0 framework and a ton of new MochiMedia API features and compatibility. Special thanks to all of our publishers, especially everyone who has been posting suggestions and bug reports!

As of today, we’ve officially passed 500 total downloads and 100 active publishers! This means we’ve successfully more than doubled our total number of publishers every month for three consecutive months!
In addition to passing this important milestone, some other interesting statistics include nearly 40,000 gameplays and more than a massive quarter million games imported!
That being said, we can’t celebrate without thanking our sponsors FlashGameLicense.com, GamerSafe.com, and FlashGameDistribution.com and you, our supporters and publishers! Our great community of webmaster publishers have contributed a number of free plugins, themes, and language packs.
Here’s some of the highlights:
Language Packs:

German Informal by Miro912

Thank you all!

StandAloneArcade 1.4 stable has just been released! You can download this now by visiting StandAloneArcade.com and clicking “Download Now”
The major components of this update include the completion of the language, plugins, and themes systems. Now you can easily create extensions to our awesome product! Other major new features include an SEO manager, menu manager, and AJAX comments for games and user profile pages.
In addition to these major sections, we’ve added literally hundreds of minor improvements and new features. If you view the user side of the arcade, you’ll see the completely reworked home page, complete with a slide-show for featured games as well as several new content blocks for better organized games. If you head to the Admin CP, you’ll notice that several of the areas have been upgraded to include drag-and-drop features and lots of polished aesthetics.
And of course, we want to thank our sponsors who are making all of this possible! This update would not have happened if not for the great support from Adam Schroeder, Chris Hughes, Merlin Gore, and many others from FlashGameLicense.com and GamerSafe.com who worked with us on improving the systems that power the automatic game adding systems and the new featured games section. Be sure to check out the new “Sponsors” information section in the SAA Admin CP where you can learn more about how you can help them by sponsoring a new game and promoting your arcade.
If you’d like to see the new version in action, head over to our live demo.
Enjoy!

Over the past year, we’ve built an amazing social arcade platform. We’re really proud of what we’ve done and the great things our team and customers have accomplished with the early versions of our project. As of our last update some months ago, we’ve been getting a lot of suggestions that we really love, but the dreams and possibilities were outside of what the pay-per-license system allowed for. Our small team of six had to focus on short term advances instead of the greater long term goals and the full package that we want for both ourselves and more importantly, the publishers using our software.
Not any more.
With the help of a coalition of industry leaders, StandAloneArcade will be going through regular, reliable cycles of sponsor-funded updates. In fact, we’ve already been working hard on this and are almost ready to release SAA 1.3, which integrates brand new, super easy streams of quality Flash games via the FlashGameDistribution.com API. Over the next few updates, in addition to additional API support for 3rd parties, we’re going to put a major focus on front-end functionality and features (eye candy!).
Did we mention it’s going to be free?
Our sponsors have made it possible for us to release our software completely for free. Zero. Nada. You pay nothing and get everything.
Is there a catch?
Nope. Our sponsors are taking care of everything. Starting with SAA 1.3, all releases will be completely free. Anyone that purchased the older versions of SAA will be permanently upgraded for Premium Service Membership on our support forums upon request. Premium Service Membership is a new line of support that includes free professional installations, ftp support, professional updates, etc. It’s the works.
Don’t thank us, thank our sponsors! We love what we do, and they’re making this dream possible. Our sponsors all offer services of some kind that benefit the Flash gaming industry, whether they cater to developers, publishers, or people that want to advertise through games. We’ll be adding information on addition sponsors over the next few weeks.
Cheers!
